The Fall, 4 (248.)

Have you seen
the screen?
And if so, what does it do for you?
Such images, and splendor,
distracting neverenders,
virtual worlds into which
one may climb
and, while sitting there,
never leave.
Oh, food is still required.
The bathroom too.
But with a good pair of headphones
and twisted willpower,
you can inhabit screen worlds
for hours and hours.
If work takes up 8 hours a day,
which it probably will, sadly,
then sleep is another 6 to 8 hours,
and that leaves
8 whole hours
for cavorting in a computer.

I miss the sun.
