The Fall, 2 (246.)

It might take a million tries,
but success can happen.
I’ve seen it, I’ve felt it –
I’ve been there.
I’ve slogged up a mountain in the early afternoon
only to feel my legs get sore
and the sun burn more,
but I’ve also stood atop that mountain’s peak
and marveled at all the majesty
near and far away.
Learning is a process,
knowing is an action,
it becomes too easy
to cling to reactions.
The want must be constant.
It’s a matter of desire
and willpower.
I suppose,
in the words of what I assume is an old adage,
you build a bridge
one brick at a time.
